Outings and Events, Summer 2007 Here is an up to date list of events and outings for this summer. Please note some events are not yet finalised so keep checking here as the page will be updated as soon as details and/or changes are available. Any Committee Member should have firm dates nearer the time of provisional outings, so if you can’t visit the web site please ring someone to find out.
Sunday 24th June
Thursday 5th July Tynwald Exhibition. We have our usual exhibition in the Homecomer's Marquee, we plan to exhibit our photos from 'The Manxmen' poem and a selection of Manx Scenes (please hand any photos of Manx Scenes you have to a committee member before 21st June for selection). If anyone can offer assistance on the day by helping put up/take down our display or be a steward for an hour or two, please advise a committee member - this event is a lot of work so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Saturday 21st July
Ayres Visits There are several guided walks to the Ayres, it has been decided not to organise a proper club outing as each walk will appeal to different members. It is suggested if you are interested to select walk/s from the schedule (Click Here), and arrange your own small groups or perhaps go on your own - please note some of them need to be booked.
Thursday 2nd August
A guided walk around
Scarlett and Langness with a Geologist. Meet at Scarlett car park at
6pm.
"I have asked my Geology
friend and he would be quite happy to give us a walk and talk
around the Langness and Scarlett area. He said that there is
a huge amount of interesting formations in that area including
a wall of igneous rock that has tumbled down, an archway that
has 2 obviously different types of rock and also a mini giants
causeway with the same rock formations as in Ireland....all very
interesting stuff and great as we have Natures patterns as a
theme for next season".
Wednesday 5th September
Saturday 15th September
Ghost Walk around Peel at 8.30pm, £3 per
person. Optional early evening meal at The Highwayman is booked
for 22 meals at 6.45pm so we can start the walk at 8.30pm. John
needs to know who wants a meal so he can confirm the numbers as soon
as possible - as it is a Saturday and normally very busy the sooner
any extra meals are confirmed the better. Family and friends are
welcome to join us and if the meals booked exceed 22 we can increase
the number providing he has room.
