L&CPU Certificates Presentation, November 2007

 
WPS Presdient Eddie Fryer presents L&CPU Certificates of Merit to Ruth Nicholls and John Hall

On Thursday 18th October there was a surprise for Jessie Russell in the form of a Birthday Cake and a rendition of 'Happy Birthday To You' by the members for her 80th birthday which she was celebrating that week.

Congratulations Jessie and Happy Birthday from all of us.

Ghost Walk
Saturday 15th September 2007

Our final outing of the summer, a meal at the Highwayman was followed by a Ghost Walk around Peel.

Bushey's Brewery
Wednesday 5th September 2007

Preceded by a meal at The Hop Garden, a good number of members enjoyed a tour of Bushey's Brewery. We learned with great interest the brewing process from start to finish and of course their excellent beer was sampled with enthusiasm! Thanks to Bushey's staff for their hospitality and to Ruth for organising the outing.

Scarlett and Langness
Thursday 2nd August 2007

A lovely sunny evening was perfect weather for our visit to Scarlett and Langness with Geologist Anthony Wilkes who showed us fossils and interesting rock formations and talked about how they came about. A good number of members turned out and enjoyed the fascinating facts about this area, many thanks to Mr Wilkes for a very interesting insight into the geology of the area and to Hannah for organising the outing.

Douglas Power Station

Photos of our visit to the Power Station. A very interesting and enjoyable tour was enjoyed by members, many thanks to the MEA staff for the guided tour and their patience with lingering photographers!
